De’Sean Jones & URBAN ART ORCHESTRA

Detroit-born jazz where hip-hop, gospel, electronic sound, and deep groove meet.

Saxophonist, composer, and bandleader De’Sean Jones brings the sound of Detroit to Black Cat with music that moves between jazz, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic influence with serious rhythmic drive and cinematic scale.

A three-time Grammy-nominated artist and two-time NAACP Image Award winner, Jones has contributed to 14 Billboard No. 1 records and worked with Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Snoop Dogg, Faith Evans, RAYE, The Clark Sisters, Big Sean, and more. A protégé of Marcus Belgrave and Underground Resistance co-founder Mike Banks, he founded Urban Art Orchestra in 2022 as a 200+ artist collective built to push contemporary orchestral music into new territory.
