Meet Sarah Hanahan, one of New York City’s most electrifying jazz saxophonists on the rise, captivating audiences and redefining the genre with every performance. A graduate of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School and The Juilliard School, Sarah is grounded in the jazz tradition, having studied under luminaries like Abraham Burton, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, and Marc Cary. With recent collaborations alongside legendary names such as Jeff “Tain” Watts, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jason Moran, and the Grammy-winning Mingus Big Band, Sarah’s name is being celebrated in iconic NYC venues like Smalls Jazz Club, Birdland, and Dizzy’s Club, as well as around the world. She’s also a proud alum of NPR Jazz Night in America’s Youngbloods—the next generation of jazz innovators under 30. Her debut album, Among Giants, is already making waves and is available now across all streaming platforms. Backed by an all-star rhythm section featuring Marc Cary, Nat Reeves, and Jeff “Tain” Watts, Among Giants is more than just an album; it’s a declaration of Sarah’s arrival in the jazz world.
